Technician
JOB SUMMARY:
The technician performs complex operations on assemblies and subassemblies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Build complex assemblies and subassemblies with minimum supervision
working from written procedures and engineering drawings. Examples include
adjustment, alignment and calibration activities.
· Participate in ongoing problem solving. Recognize, report, analyze
and resolve or suggest ideas for improvement or solutions for problems encountered
during regular course of production.
· Maintain accurate reports and records. Maintain adherence to applicable
ISO and safety requirements.
· Review and inspect work for accuracy and quality. Schedule work to
meet production requirements.
· Maintain close communication with lead persons. Report parts shortages
and other material requirements and production problems.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
§ Acquire knowledge of the procedures, techniques, and the necessary
skills to build high quality assemblies efficiently.
§ Should become proficient in 70-80% of the processes and/or complex
assemblies in work area.
§ Work with minimal Supervision.
§ Prioritize work in accordance with the current manufacturing concept/techniques.
§ Recommend and implement more efficient methods of assembly. Has the
authority to stop the production line if there is a quality or process problem.
§ Initiates design change requests documentation.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
§ Work with the Line Leads for direction daily.
§ Work with the Manufacturing Engineers for problem solving as needed.
§ Work with QA for approval/quality issues as required.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Comprehensive analysis prior to decision-making is crucial. Erroneous decisions
will have a serious impact on the overall success of company operations and
may jeopardize business activities. Accuracy and attention to detail are requirements
for success in this position.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
· Frequent light physical activity is required including use of hands
and arms. Sitting is required 60% to 90% of the time. Occasionally lifts 35
pounds unaided.
· Individual workstation in an environmentally controlled room.
REQUIREMENTS:
· At least two to four years of related production experience.
· Must have a working knowledge of hand, power and measuring tools.
· The ability to work from engineering drawings as well as the ability
to exercise judgment.
· Good interpersonal skills
· Must speak, read, write and understand English.
· High School diploma or equivalent is required.
